bio
My base is in Ann Arbor. Family and friends are among my subjects. I rely upon drawing from my life as source material for other work.
I tend to focus on what is near me in both physically and emotionally. I like to travel, and drawing is a convenient medium anywhere. I strive to juggle stylistic and formal concerns with capturing the essence of my subject and the mood. There is a story-telling aspect to my work. Recently, I have developed that further by writing and publishing graphic stories.
My methods and media stem from any drawing media to cut-outs. I have many associations with Photographers and printmakers, and it has influenced my work. Most paintings of mine will employ some degree of pochoir printing.
I accept commissions and engage in periodic curatorial projects.
Curatorial projects and commissions accepted.
